If you're cruising down the Great Ocean Road and fancy a pit stop, Poppies is an absolute gem. Tucked away off the beaten track, it’s got a chilled vibe—none of that crazy hustle some other places have straight off the road. Their BLT with avo? Bloody fantastic—super flavourful, every bite a winner. And don’t even get me started on their homemade savoury scones: dense and crumbly in all the right ways, paired with this proper salty, airy butter. Pure heaven! Bonus points for the garden shop out back—selling organic goodies and gardenwares. It’s a top-notch spot, worth the detour.

What a gorgeous cafe near Anglesea and a wonderful place to start your Great Ocean drive. The interior was so beautiful, the space was spacious. We ordered curry and some soup. Food was decent but what truly stood out was the vibes. Highly recommend!

Excellent spot for breakfast/ brunch. Recommend the ‘Eggs Royal’, poached eggs with smoked salmon and spinach on toasted muffins with hollandaise sauce.

If I’m ever in the area a go to for brekky or lunch. It’s tucked away, off the back streets, but there’s always plenty of parking. Staff are super friendly and very welcoming whether there’s a large group of us, or I’ve got the little one or a furry doggie friend. I adore the outside seating space, but there’s plenty of spaces undercover indoors too. The food is superb and although the menu is smaller, it doesn’t make it easier with what to choose from it! I’m a sucker for avo on toast with crispy bacon and on the occasional healthier day their granola with fresh fruit is delicious. Oh and I’m reluctant to share as they sell out quick, but they sell the best honey joys I’ve ever sampled!

Loved this hidden calming gem from the busy summer crowds. Friendly and fast service. The food was excellent quality I recommend the Bali eggs! All fresh high quality produce used. Lovely calming ambience with a homewares shop, cafe , grocery store and nursery. What’s not to love really?

Located at the McGains Nursery Poppie’s is a place to sit and linger, enjoying breakfast or lunch among hanging plants, great coffee, tasty and fresh food, relaxing environment. It also has a grocery store and you can buy fresh veggies and fruits as well.

My favorite cafe down in Anglesea! I’m obsessed with their chilli scrambled eggs - had it 2 days in a row. The service there is also great with plenty of lovely seating options both outside and inside.
